Adagio space (APART HOTEL ADAGIO , Moscow) presents the graceful series of geometric abstraction style paintings by Nino Kuprava. The works were created independently, but the exposition looks as if it was made specifically for this interior. This painting style is known as the Post-Painterly Abstraction, and it is inscribed in the history of art by such names as Piet Mondrian, Theo van Doesburg, Josef Albers, Richard Paul Lohse, Vladimir Andreenkov. In this case, a lucky coincidence of Nino's paintings style and interior design corresponding influenced the choice of this collection and gave a completed decorative finishing to the Aparthotel space.
The art of pure plastics is known and successfully exists in the world. Paradoxically, beautiful abstraction is not seen, nor exists in modern Russia. "Geometric painting", "Op-Art" and "Hard Edge” are rare among young artists. Nino’s paintings remind us of the dance of geometric figures and colours, patterns and shapes, but the number of possible reasonable combinations of motions is infinite, which is the intricacy. Perhaps art is not creating useless combinations, but finding the one that will be most beautiful? With all the variety, these are still the minority. Finding the elusive goal of logic and reason – a beautiful equilibrium – intuition helps. And if someone is able to find harmonious combination, style is created and not only in paintings but also in life. The style provides the space with individual contents, and gives personal meaning to life.
That is the special attractiveness of creativity; it helps to discover the beauty and order of the Universe, to feel it's breathing, heartbeat and even to create your own decorative image of harmony.
