The Christmas collection of Cameos. Art of a groove on firm stones is a special direction in sculpture, known in an extreme antiquity. The master modern glyptic Svyatoslav Nikitenko creates cameos basically on religious subjects, continuing ancient subject traditions on a material which earlier in Russia practically was not used and revives beautiful tradition medallion icons. A harmonious combination free plastic and easy graceful figure on a transparent stone gives to works of the author special charm and doubtless aesthetic, art, museum value.
