 Alex Shervashidze-Chachba was born in 1959 in Sukhum, Abkhazia.
Son of the Honored Art Worker, Doctor of Art History – professor Leo Shervashidze-Chachba (1910 – 2003).
In 1974 graduated from Sukhum art school.
In 1979 graduated from Sukhum art college.
In 1986 graduated from Tbilisi State Academy of Arts: majors in art history and production design in theater and cinema.
From 1986 to 1989 continued his education at a post graduate level at MGU Lomonosova, majoring in art history.
1986 – 89 worked as a production designer in the Russian Theater of Young Spector, Sukhum
Alex has worked as a production designer at many theaters of USSR, including the Moscow theater named after O. Tabakov
1995 – 1997 – chief designer at the theater of V. Spesivtseva
From 1988 – member of the artists’ union of USSR and artists’ union of Abkhazia
He took part in many exhibitions in USSR, Russia, Germany, Japan, France, etc
From 2006 artist is actively involved in exhibition activities in museums of Moscow and Saint Petersburg and he is the conceptual author of exhibitions of gallery Triumpth.
These days the artist lives and works in Moscow, Russia and Sukhum, Abkhazia.
