  • The paintings of Constantine Inal-Ipa continue in footsteps of the best traditions of abstract impressionism, inscribed in the history of modern art classics by such names as Alberto Burri, Antoni Tapies, Anselm Kiefer, Robert Rauschenberg. Constantine Inal-Ipa follows the laws of the chosen genre, but delivers the condition, which defines the inner world of man, in his own manner.

The leitmotif of the collection presented under the title of Kind Of Blues is a long-standing love for jazz music. The collection contains paintings dedicated to the works of outstanding musicians: Miles Davis, Bill Evans, Thelonious Monk, Charlie Parker and Dizzy Gillespie.

The idea to capture the “Jazz” mode in a painting is rather complex, but at the same time interesting for physical embodiment. The theme itself allows the artist to freely improvise surfaces as musical phrases. Out of rhythms of strokes in combination with exposed colours sometimes paradoxical compositions arise. Improvised material - burlap, old newspaper or clothing - freeze in the technique of collage as a pause. At the same time, colour balance combines dissimilar materials and sets the overall tone of the work. Constantine Inal-Ipa seeks to awaken the imagination of the viewer, and when successful, through the window of painting a dialogue can occur not only with the great musicians, but also with one’s own subconscious.

Series Kind Of Blues Inal-Ipa is captured by sight and emotions simultaneously. On canvas, colour and rhythm, the beat and the interval compositions sound as if the paint became musical sounds. And the hand of the artist - is the tuning fork that leads the tangible surface to harmonious synthesis. As a result, the effect of the presence of music in painting and vice versa occurs.
