Shavkat A. Not seducing anybody by national exotics. He is an artist, standing in the middle of the road between Christian Europe, bleached to bone Asia and Orient, barely discernable in the mist.
His painting – lapis lazuli in clay mounting, cracked in the sultry. From hands, smeared with greasy ochre grows blue jug. His parchment figures, with heads touching the sky, are lanky like "Striding Van Gog" by Osip Tsadkin. They are strewn by sand-flour from millstones, chilled out by the blue sky
